Itinerary

Embark on a 7-day journey through Morocco’s most breathtaking landscapes, starting and ending in Marrakesh. Explore the Middle Atlas Mountains and the charming village of Imlil in the High Atlas. Continue to Boumalne Dades with its stunning gorges, then venture into the Sahara Desert for a magical night in a luxury camp in Merzouga. Enjoy a camel trek over the dunes and soak in the starry skies. Discover Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert and a city of ancient kasbahs, before returning to Marrakesh filled with unforgettable memories.

Depending on your arrival time, you have the option to either spend the night in a traditional riad in Marrakech or proceed directly to Imlil, which is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Marrakech, situated at the foothills of Jebel Toubkal (1740m). If you choose the latter, you'll stay in a traditional Berber house nestled at the base of the mountain. The ascent to Jebel Toubkal begins early in the morning. After a hearty breakfast, a knowledgeable mountain guide will accompany you throughout the hike. A mule will be provided to carry your bags and the necessary supplies, including food and water, for the climb. Your experienced guide will lead you through the scenic Berber villages that dot the landscape as you ascend. Along the way, you'll pass by the revered shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2350m). Upon reaching Toubkal refuge, you'll have time to rest and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch by a local cook. Following this break, the journey continues upwards until you reach an altitude of 3200m. Here, shower facilities are available, and you'll be treated to a traditional Moroccan meal for dinner. Accommodation will be provided for the overnight stay, with tents available during the summer months.

Early wake-up call on the next day to avoid the strong rays of the summer sun. Breakfast will be served at 5 am, and the final ascent will commence around 5:30 am. Refreshments, including water, oranges, and nuts, will be provided during breaks. The continuous trek will last for 3-4 hours until you reach the summit (4167m). Once at the summit, there will be an opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views and take a rest. Following this, the descent from the mountain will begin, first reaching the hut where lunch will be provided, and then returning to the village of Imlil for an overnight stay.

Breakfast will be served before departure from Imlil village. The next leg of the journey will take you to the Dades Valley via the Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass, crossing the High Atlas Mountains. There will be breaks for lunch and coffee along the way.

After a hearty breakfast, drive to discover the stunning Todgha Gorge. Along the way, immerse yourself in the local culture with a visit to a nomadic family who call this region home. Continue your journey to the Merzouga Desert via the towns of Erfoud and Rissani. Upon arrival, camels or quads will take you to your luxury camp. After dinner, gather around the campfire to enjoy traditional local music under the bright stars. Take some free time to walk in the sand dunes and soak in the peaceful desert atmosphere. Overnight stay in your private tent.

Rise early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes, followed by a delicious breakfast. Afterward, enjoy a camel ride back to your vehicle before setting off westward from Merzouga. Journey through the vibrant towns of Rissani, Alnif, Tazarin, and Agdez, exploring the lush landscapes of the Draa Valley and visiting the historic Tamnougalt Kasbah. After a relaxing lunch, continue your drive to Ouarzazate, passing through the scenic Ait Saouen mountains. Conclude your day with an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel in Ouarzazate, where you can unwind and reflect on the day's adventures.

After breakfast, set out to explore the key landmarks of Ouarzazate, a city rich in history and cinematic charm. Following this, we'll drive back to Marrakech, making a memorable stop at the impressive Telouet Kasbah nestled in the Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Marrakech by early evening, where you'll be dropped off at your accommodation.

Start your day in Marrakesh with a fascinating guided walking tour led by a knowledgeable local guide. The morning begins with a visit to the serene Menara Gardens, an oasis built in 1866 that features a stunning pool surrounded by vibrant flowerbeds. Once a retreat for dignitaries, these gardens offer a breathtaking view of the Atlas Mountains, especially during sunset, and serve as an ingenious irrigation system sustaining the surrounding flora. Your journey continues with visits to Marrakesh’s most iconic sites, including the La Koutoubia Minaret, a remarkable structure reminiscent of the Giralda tower in Seville. Explore the hidden Saadian Tombs, discovered in 1917, which showcase exquisite Moorish architecture within their sixteenth-century mausoleums. The tour also includes stops at the opulent Bahia Palace and the Dar Si Said Museum, both prime examples of Moroccan grandeur and craftsmanship. Next, immerse yourself in the lush beauty of the Majorelle Gardens, wander through the vibrant souks, and experience the lively atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna Square, where performers, vendors, and storytellers create an unforgettable experience.
